A Q&A with Codie Richter;

What was your past experience before joining the team? How many years experience do you have in the finance industry as a mortgage broker?

I have spent my time over the last 12 years in finance across various roles with the Major Banks.

Why did you choose to become a broker?

I'm a people person and I love all aspects of lending - the property side as well as helping customer achieve their financial goals.

Did you always know that you wanted to be a Finance Broker?

No I wanted to do something in health/medicine during school and uni but loved my job at the bank so decided to go all in.

Why should someone choose you rather than going to a bank?

We have access to over 60 lenders in one place and I strive to think outside the box to get the most complex or unique scenarios across the line. We can also do some really cool things that mainstream banks would never offer.

What is your favourite thing about being a broker?

Speaking with so many different people and hearing their different stories and experiences.

What support do you offer your clients?

I support my customer through the whole journey, guiding them to get ready to purchase their first home through to building their property portfolio.

What types of loans or clients do you work with the most?

I am experienced with complex self employed and construction lending.

Do you charge a fee for your services?

In almost all scenarios you are not required to pay a fee for our services. Instead, we’re paid a commission by the lender you choose through. Learn more here or get in touch if you have any questions.

Important question that everyone will want to know the answer to - if you’re going for dinner/breakfast/coffee somewhere in Brisbane, where are you going?

I have been going to my favourite coffee shop Little Genovese in Coorparoo for many years and locally I love The Wild Canary in Brookfield.

Have you always lived in Brisbane?

I moved to Brisbane out of high school at 17 from my home town of Toogoolawah. I have then spent most of my of adult life in East Brisbane/Morningside area but have recently moved West to Kenmore Hills where my partner grew up.

What’s your favourite thing about living in Kenmore Hills?

My favourite thing about living here is that it feels like I am back in the countryside - lots of greenery and wildlife.

If someone was to visit Brisbane, what are the top 3 things you recommend they do?

For any friends and family visiting Brisbane, I normally recommend to visit Eat Street to try lots of different foods, take a ride on the City Cat and visit Howard Smith Wharfs.

When you’re not working, what do you spend your time doing?

Spending time with my family and 6 month-old son Noah and keeping active, I love playing social sport.

When you’re not working, where will people find you?

I like to visit my home town and family farm.

Customer Service Manager

E: ailsa.richter@loanmarket.com.au

I’m Ailsa, a mother to three grown children and wife to a farmer/grazier. I understand the rural lifestyle and challenges of small family businesses. I’m overjoyed to be building this new venture with my daughter Codie.

I have spent thirty years teaching primary age children and helping their families navigate the education system through changing times. It has been a pleasure watching my pupils grow into adults and get the opportunity to teach their children also. Now I have the chance to help families into their first home or investment by using my research, technology and guidance skills to navigate the vast lending environment we have today.

When I’m not busy tracking down the right finance deal for your family, I love to spend time with my own children and grandchildren. Golf, gardening and camping are currently my outdoor passions. This allows me a well-rounded balanced lifestyle. Arts and crafts have always been a creative outlet for me. From pottery to antique restoration, I have tried it all.
