Fixed Interest Rates …Are They On The Rise?

Banks Increase Fixed Rates…..

This last week has been quite and interesting one. Rates seems to have been steady for quite some time now and with speculation of another interest rate cut on the horizon, you would think that the banks would be lowering their fixed rates even further. Well at least their short term interest rates.

Surprisingly enough we saw 2 major banks announce increases of up to 20 points for 4 and 5 year fixed rates. A strange decision in my opinion but certainly one to keep an eye out for over the coming months to see if other banks follow suit.
