Q and A with Scott:

What was your past experience before joining the team? How many years experience do you have in the finance industry as a mortgage broker?

Prior to becoming a mortgage broker with Loan Market in 2019, I have worked in the banking and finance industry for over 20 years starting when I was 20 years old.  

I’ve worked a wide range of roles over that time from general day to day banking, to personal lending to mortgages which I believe has given me a great insight into how banks work and I thoroughly enjoy passing this information on to my clients.

Why should someone choose you rather than going to a bank?

Utilising a broker gives you access to a wide range of rates, products and different credit policies that you may not otherwise get if you went directly to a bank.  

When approaching a bank they don't have to act in your “best interests” and only have to recommend their own limited products.  

A broker will act in your best interests at all times and recommend a product and bank based on your own personal needs and objectives. 

What types of loans or clients do you work with the most? Have you won any awards for your services?

I work with all types of clients looking to purchase their first home, trade up, and purchase their next home or build an investment portfolio.

Over the years though I have found I have helped more first home buyers into their first homes than all other clients. I enjoy this as I get to teach them and guide them along the way in their first home loan journey. 

Do you charge a fee for your services?

In almost all scenarios you are not required to pay a fee for our services. Instead, we’re paid a commission by the lender you choose through. Learn more here or get in touch if you have any questions.

What’s your favourite thing about living in Samford Valley?

My favourite things about living in Samford Valley are the community feel to the area and the amount of wildlife you see out here on a daily basis. So apologies in advance if I am talking to you on the phone and out of nowhere you hear the loudest bunch of cockatoos you’ve ever heard in your entire life ;) 

When you’re not working, what do you spend your time doing?

I love travelling so I try to get away at least once a year. 

When I am not out and about I am a bit of a home body and enjoy getting stuck in to things around the house.
