Tell us about your journey to become a mortgage broker.
Prior to becoming a mortgage broker, I was an account manager with a Telco company for 10 years, but always had a desire to help the individual to succeed with their dreams of becoming a home owner. So my journey began 12 years ago and I became a mortgage broker. This then became my passion to see the direct impact on assisting customers achieving their goals.
Why should someone choose you rather than going to a bank?
As a broker, I have access to multiply lenders to match your individual circumstances and requirements with specific lender policy. Most importantly, giving you one point of contact, and a personalized service to suit your needs and educating my clients along the way and building relationships. Providing a level of service to both clients and referrers, that is second to none giving an experience so they will want to tell their family, friends and colleagues about.
What type of loans or clients do you work with the most?
Residential lending, consisting of non-conforming loans (lo-Doc) PAYG and Self-employed. First home buyers, Construction loans, Investment loans, and existing customers looking to refinance and consolidate to a better product and interest rate. I can also offer you Mortgage Protection Insurance, Asset Finance, Car loans, and Private Lending. Looking for commercial loans or SMSF no worries I can refer you to the right person.
What support do you offer your clients?
Not only working 9-5 I am available weeknights and weekends, and when not available to answer your call will return your call in 2 hours. I feel this is important as everyone’s situation is different and not always able to chat 9-5. I provide my clients not just with products but most importantly a solution which is best suited for your needs. Doing my best at all times to make the process seamless and as painless as possible.
Do you charge a fee for services?
In most scenarios, you are not required to pay a fee for our services. Instead were paid a commission by the lender you choose. Any Fee for service will be disclosed prior to commencing work and if a fee is required will built into the loan if possible.
What’s your favourite thing about being a mortgage broker?
My most favourite thing about being a mortgage broker is seeing the relief and joy when you call that customer to advise them we have an approval. This is rewarding knowing you have made a difference in someone’s life.
What is your favorite thing about living in Adelaide?
I have lived in the Northern suburbs all of my life. Close to the Barossa Valley being one of my favourite places to visit, but still just 30 minutes to the city.
When you’re not working, what do you spend your time doing?
When not working, you will find me spending time with my family and grandchildren or taking a weekend away at the wineries. I also love to travel, having family interstate gives me opportunities to visit regularly, however I love to also travel overseas.
