Sarah Thomson has, across her 18-year broking career, won just about every broking and business award that exists. We'd list them all, but it would take ages and you're a busy person with lots on, so just ask her when you next see her (she'll probably blush and be quite awkward about it, which is quite funny for everyone who isn't Sarah).
She is all about creating a culture of trust and runs a business that you can just relax and be comfortable in. One of the great things about Sarah is that she cares - like, actually cares - and will take the time to work out what you want to achieve before then coaching you through how to get there.

What was your past experience before joining the team?
I began my finance career as a Customer Service Manager in 1999/2000, started my own business in 2002, and joined Loan Market in 2005. Now, I lead a team of exceptional women and have built a successful business - and have never looked back.
Why should someone choose you rather than going to a bank?
The main reason is that as a mortgage broker I am legally required to work in your best interests and explore a number of options (from different lenders) to find a solution that suits you best. Banks on the other hand are businesses with shareholders, and unfortunately they answer to those shareholders and not the customers. Everything we do is about getting the right outcome for you.
The other reasons I would say that using a broker is preferable to a bank is choice and also service. We have over 60 lenders on our panel and have access to hundreds of products for all different types of client requirements. If you’ve previously been pushed back on by the bank, we can help find a lender that will say yes.
What support do you offer your clients?
Our team of 8 brokers and 14 support staff are experts in every aspect of the property buying and refinancing process, providing support every step of the way. From determining your borrowing capacity and finding the perfect property, to coordinating with real estate agents and navigating the post-settlement period, we make the loan process simple and easy. But our services go far beyond that, including assistance with conveyancers, insurance, and more. We also offer access to our comprehensive network of professionals, such as buyers advocates, conveyancers, financial advisers, builders, and accountants, (see more here). to be our clients' first port of call for any financial requirement they may have throughout the different stages of the process.
What types of loans or clients do you work with the most?
I have a soft spot for first home buyers, as I love helping them feel educated and supported during what can be a nerve-racking process. It's also incredibly rewarding to work with families looking to upgrade their home and move on to bigger and better things, and it always brings me joy to see them achieve their goals.
